Cairo cityscape at twilight

About the desk

We write from the lane, not the press box

Mission

Make development visible

Results tell us who was fastest on one day. Development reporting asks why an athlete reached the line, who kept the club open and which methods can be repeated elsewhere.

We publish in English to connect Egyptian practice with a wider athletics audience while keeping our reporting rooted in local detail.

Independence

No federation press office

Sabq is not an official federation publication and does not present itself as one. Partnerships are considered only when editorial decisions remain with the journal.

Corrections, commercial relationships and image sources are handled transparently.

Method

Three rules before we publish

1. Name the place. Vague “Egypt athletics” pieces help nobody. We cite clubs, streets, and meet directors when they agree to be named.

2. Prefer practice over podium. Medals matter. Daily attendance matters more for a country’s pipeline.

3. Separate hope from evidence. We celebrate breakthroughs without inventing national myths.

Editorial workflow

How a field note becomes a story

01 · LISTEN

Start with a local question

A coach, athlete, parent or facility worker identifies a development problem worth examining.

02 · VERIFY

Observe and cross-check

We visit where possible, confirm dates and distinguish direct evidence from interpretation.

03 · PUBLISH

Show what can transfer

The finished piece explains what another club or school can learn without flattening local context.

Corrections, sources and partnerships

What we fund

Clinics, not billboards

Revenue from partnerships goes into open coaching sessions in Nasr City and equipment pools for school relays. Marketing budgets that only buy banners get a polite no.
